Part 2 -Journey to McleodGanj
Part 2 - Visit to McleodGanj
Dharamshala Cricket stadium
We started journey towards Mcleod Ganj in the morning and on the way, being a cricket fan took a break at Dharamshala to watch the stadium. It was around 10-11 kms drive only from Chamunda devi.
This is the highest cricket stadium in the world in altitude. It was simply awesome with lush green outfield and snow peaks in the background. I was feeling pity for the batsmen with such beautiful mountains in front, how can he concentrate on his batting. That’s why day matches do not happen here😀😀😀.
We resumed our journey towrads McleodGanj in the hope of awesome drive again, but the road was not that good this time. Some parts were under maintenance too. Any way reached around 12 at Mcleod Ganj and we headed towards “Bhgsunag” side for hotel booking. It was not much crowdy so we could easily find a good hotel with the famous “Triund View” from the balcony. Our hotel was near the market with good eating joints around.
After settling down, we straight away went to Bhagsu Nag temple that was around 500m walk from the hotel. I spent some good time there with my mother visiting the surroundings.
Then started the actual thrill of the trip with a run to Bhagsu nag fall that is appx at 1750 mt. altitude with clean stair route. Fast and cold winds were blowing; I was alone, ran towards the top testing my athleticism and stamina after some break.
Here,I came to know about the rock/ hippy joint Shiva Café further up appx at 1890 mt height and started towards that place after spending 30 refreshing mins at the fall. Honestly, Shiva café was made at a nicest place, must visit place. I enjoyed a lot with beautiful views all around, with some funky music and few Punjabis from Ludihana sitting on the same table and sharing some good tips for the Triund Trek.
I came back with wonderful memories and enjoyed evening with my parents. Visited main mkt, roamed around and did some shopping. We had an awesome refreshing dinner at a small restaurant Abhinandan nearby my hotel.
Naddi Point
Next morning we headed straight to Naddi Point the most beautiful place here. Fully covered with snow peaks it is a heavenly place to be around and spend 1-2 good days there. We didn’t have much time as that was our last day and we came to know about this place bit late. However, the 1 hour we spent there was good enough for all of us to have an imprint forever and call me back some day.
However, for travel/trek lovers they should plan for 3-4 night trips alone at McleodGanj.
Day 1- stay at Bhagsu Nag side
Day 2- Plan a trek to Triund with group and stay overnight there in a camp It takes around 4-6 hours on one way trek depending upon your ability to climb.
Day 3 – Stay at Naddi point.
Day 4- Optional or head back.
Happy Travelling and Enjoy life
